Summer Reading Celebration: June 1 – July 31 Summertime is just around the corner and with it comes at San José Public Library. It’s time to kick back and enjoy a book (or several) of your own choosing. “Groundbreaking Reads” is this year’s Summer Reading theme for teens 12-17. Starting June 1 st , teens can sign up at their local library or online at sjpl.org/summer. This year, the program features a fun activity grid that encourages both reading and information literacy by challenging participants to read and explore different aspects of the library. Teens receive prizes (in the form of gift cards) by completing rows on a game grid. We invite teens to create for our Summer Reading Celebration during the months of June and July. Upload a short clip, no longer than 4 minutes, to YouTube. Be creative! The contest is open to all participants in the Teen Summer Reading Celebration. If you have a talent for creating comic/manga style illustrated short stories, everyone is invited to enter San José Public Library’s for all ages as part of our Summer Reading Celebration, 2013. Create your own comic book with a maximum length of 8 pages, including the cover page for a chance to win great cash prizes.
