As a result of the district budget cuts and reduction of Counselors at Evergreen Valley High School, the scope and delivery of services must change. The primary focus of Counselors is required to be the high school graduation of all students. Each counselor is now monitoring over 1,350 students. Parents, students and other community members must expect a longer time for any response to be given. In some instances previous services will no longer be available due to staffing limitations. We recognize the importance of delivering information to students and parents. In support of that need, we will be required to use technology as our primary means of communicating through School Loop, Tell-A-Parent and our latest addition, Naviance, for college information and career planning. Please utilize these resources before attempting to contact a Counselor. We understand that this process may be frustrating, but anticipate it's usefulness will grow over time.
Effective immediately, the following schedule will be in place;
Monday - Counselors available to students Brunch, Lunch and After School
Tuesday - Counselors available to students Brunch, Lunch, After School
Wednesday - Counselors are unavailable
Thursday – Counselors are available Brunch & Lunch.
Parent meetings by scheduled appointment only -1:00 - 4:00 p.m. No Drop - In's
Friday - Counselors available to students Brunch, Lunch, and After School
Due to time constraints, counselors will only be able to see parents by appointment. There will be no drop - in option available. If you desire a Thursday appointment, you must contact the counselor directly by email to request an appointment using the links on this page. Not all issues require a meeting and some may be handled easily through email or by phone. You may also request counselor contact by filling in a request slip in the counseling office.
