Attendance Policy and Procedures
When a student is absent, the student's parent MUST contact the attendance office via email or phone to report the absence. If the student's last name begins with letters A-L, please call 408-347-7171 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. If the student's last name begins with letters M-Z, please call 408-347-7027 or email email@example.com. Please note, you must report the absence each day the student misses school.
Extended absences due to illness require that a parent contact the attendance office and provide a note from the student's physician.
Whenever possible, medical or dental appointments should always be made after school. If it is necessary to make an appointment during the school day, parents may call or provide the attendance office with a note signed by the parent for an Advance Admit Pass. Leaving campus without school authorization will result in disciplinary action. Students found outside of school during school hours are subject to citation by the San Jose Police Department.
When a student is absent, Evergreen Valley High School will call the student's home indicating the student's absence.
Parents can also register for Parent Connect from the Evergreen Valley High School website (www.evhs.schoolloop.com). Once fully registered, parents can view daily attendance and review grading period marks. Parent Connect is a username and password system. To guarantee that only parents can view their student's attendance and grade information parents will be need to visit school before being issued their Parent Connect password
